
Stadium Batu Kawan, officially Penang State Stadium in Batu Kawan (Seberang Perai Selatan), is a modern, multi-purpose sports venue opened in 2000 with a 40,000‑seat capacity. Built at a cost of RM104 million, it boasts a FIFA‑standard football pitch and IAAF‑certified track, ample parking, electronic scoreboard, VIP/media rooms, food outlets, a prayer facility, and medical amenities. Since its debut at the 2000 Sukma Games, it has hosted major events like the 2007 FA Cup Final, state-level football and athletics meets, and even community jogging sessions—making it a vital hub in Penang’s emerging sports city vision
